Reading peptide analytical data
No single result establishes the complete quality profile. A defensible assessment brings orthogonal methods together and keeps every result connected to the same lot.
Identity
Mass spectrometry compares observed mass with the expected molecular species. It is distinct from chromatographic purity.
Typical evidence: LC–MS or accurate-mass MSPurity
RP-HPLC estimates the relative area of detected chromatographic components under a stated method.
It does not, by itself, prove identity or contentContent
Quantitative assay addresses how much analyte is present. This is not interchangeable with percentage area purity.
Method, reference standard and basis matterBiological quality
Sterility, bioburden and bacterial endotoxin are separate attributes requiring their own validated tests.
A purity chromatogram cannot establish themStability
Stability is specific to time, temperature, container, formulation and analytical acceptance criteria.
Transport and storage claims require supporting dataAn HPLC purity percentage alone does not establish identity, peptide content, sterility, endotoxin status, or stability.
